Use case
Kederi for compliance and screening
A screening tool compares a name with a list. A Nigerian transfer narration has a name in it, but also a bank code, a payment service, a reference and a few words that the sender typed. If the tool compares the whole narration, it compares all of those words too.
Kederi returns the name of the other party alone, so your tool compares one name. The people, accounts and references in the examples are invented. The businesses are real merchants in our directory. A test runs each one through the engine and compares each answer on this page.
The name of the other party
Send each narration with its direction, credit or debit, from the statement. A narration of the form FROM one person TO another names two people, and the direction tells Kederi which one is the other party.
A transfer out
NIP/GTB/ADEBAYO CHUKWU/rent for augustCounterparty Adebayo Chukwu. The bank, the payment service and the remark are not in the name.
Two names, on a credit
NIP FROM TOBI ADEYEMI TO KEMI ALABI rentCounterparty Tobi Adeyemi, the sender.
A transfer between banks
CIP/CR/AMAKA NWOSU/ACCESS/000014240326074735000012345678/School fees/ZMO0012345Counterparty Amaka Nwosu, bank Access Bank, time 2024-03-26T07:47:35.
No name at all
000014260312091544000112934471 School fees term 2Name Unknown counterparty. This narration names nobody, so Kederi says so and does not guess a name. A row with no name to screen is a row for a person to look at.
The time of a transfer
A statement usually prints a date and no time. A NIP session id has the date and the time that the transfer started. Kederi decodes it into initiated_at, and the bank that started the transfer into bank, as in the transfer between banks above. The guide to NIP narrations shows how to read a session id.
The whole statement
POST /reports gives the reports over the rows of one account. counterparties lists the parties, with the money in and out for each one, and separates the account holder's own transfers. duplicates lists charges that look like the same charge twice. anomalies lists a charge that is far more than the account usually pays to that party.
What Kederi does not do
Kederi does not screen. It holds no sanctions list and no list of politically exposed persons, it gives no risk score, and it files no report. Your screening tool and your team do that. Kederi gives them the name.
Kederi stores no transaction. The rows are in your request, and the answer comes back. Nothing stays on our side to read later. A correction that you send to POST /feedback is the one exception, and only when you send it. See the privacy page.
Try it on your rows
The playground reads one narration with no account. The API reference has each request in six languages. To talk about your volume, contact us.
