CR refers to the recipient's account. The row itself is a debit.

Inbound NIP transfer

The sender comes first. The bank also prints a spaced variant, CIP CR/ {sender}/...

Transfer between customers

Name Ngozi Eze, category Transfer.

Both parties are in the narration. The account holder is the recipient, so the engine returns the sender.

GTBank to First Bank

Name Adaeze Tobi Okon, category Transfer, sent from GTBank.

The sender is the account holder, and the bank cuts the name short. The engine returns the recipient.

Bill payment

Name ipNX, category Internet.

The biller reference is stable for one biller, so it identifies the biller when the plan name does not.

Airtime and data

Name MTN, category Airtime.

Collection

Name DStv (MultiChoice), category TV.

The field that holds the biller moves from one biller to the next. The engine removes the customer's own name and keeps the biller.

Mastercard card payment

Name Shoprite, category Supermarket.

The bank glues the street and the city to the merchant name.

Stamp duty

Statements from 2025 call the same levy EMTL. The engine reads both names.
